Responsible Gaming at Black Label Casino

Gambling should stay an enjoyable pastime, never a way to make money or to cope with pressure. This page sets out the controls built into your account with us, the warning signs worth watching for, and the organisations in the UK that offer free, confidential help.

Our commitment to safer gambling

We treat our games as a form of entertainment, and we ask you to do the same. The money you stake buys you time and enjoyment; it is not an investment, a source of income, or a way to recover money you have already lost. Every game we offer carries a built-in margin in favour of the house, which means that over time the expected result of play is a loss. Deciding in advance what that entertainment is worth to you is the single most effective step you can take.

Before you deposit, we suggest you agree a budget with yourself and treat it the way you would treat the cost of a night out or a subscription. A simple set of habits keeps play in proportion:

  • Decide how much you can comfortably afford to lose each week or month, and stake only that amount.
  • Use money you have set aside for leisure, never money needed for rent, bills, food, credit repayments or family commitments.
  • Set a time budget as well as a money budget, and stop when either one runs out.
  • Never deposit in order to win back a loss. Chasing losses is the fastest route to a larger one.
  • Avoid playing when you are upset, bored, tired, under stress, or under the influence of alcohol.
  • Keep gambling as one activity among several rather than the one you reach for by default.

Our services are for adults aged 18 or over only. We hold a gaming licence for the market we serve, and we verify the identity, age and address of every customer as part of opening and operating an account. Where checks are outstanding or cannot be completed, we may restrict a account's activity until they are.

A quick test

If you would struggle to explain your last month of play to someone whose opinion you value, that is a reason to pause and look at the limits on your account.

The safer gambling tools in your account

Every account with us carries a set of free controls that you can switch on at any time. You will find them in the responsible gaming section of your account settings, and our live chat team can walk you through any of them. A request to tighten or add a control takes effect straight away. A request to loosen or remove one is subject to a cooling-off period before it applies, so that the decision is never made in the heat of a session.

ToolWhat it doesWhen it applies
Deposit limitCaps the total you can pay in over a day, a week or a month.Tightening applies immediately; loosening after a cooling-off period.
Loss limitCaps your net losses over a set period, regardless of how much you stake.Tightening applies immediately; loosening after a cooling-off period.
Session limitEnds your session once the time you have chosen has elapsed. From your next session onwards.
Reality checkInterrupts play at an interval you choose to show time spent and net position. From the moment it is saved.
Time-outCloses your account to play for a short fixed period you select.Immediately, and cannot be lifted early.
Self-exclusionCloses your account to play for a longer minimum period.Immediately, and cannot be lifted early.

How to switch a control on

  1. Sign in and open the responsible gaming area of your account settings.
  2. Choose the control you want and the period it should cover.
  3. Enter the amount or the length of time, and confirm. The control is saved against your account at once.
  4. If you cannot find an option or want help choosing one, message our live chat or e-mail support@casinoblacklabel.co.uk and we will set it up with you.

Time-outs and self-exclusion

A time-out is a short break: your account is closed to play and to marketing, and it reopens on its own when the period ends. Self-exclusion is a longer and firmer step. Once it is in place we will close your account to play for the full term, remove you from marketing, and take reasonable steps to prevent you opening a new account with us. Neither can be cancelled early, and at the end of a self-exclusion period your account does not reopen automatically. Any balance left in your account when a time-out or self-exclusion begins will be returned to you using the method shown in the cashier, once the usual verification checks are complete.

Set limits before you need them

Limits work best when they are chosen calmly at the start, not after a difficult session. You can always tighten them later.

Signs that gambling may be causing harm

Problem gambling develops gradually, and it is often other people who notice first. The questions below are not a diagnosis, but if you answer yes to several of them it is worth taking a break and speaking to one of the organisations listed in the next section.

  • Do you gamble for longer, or for more money, than you intended to?
  • Have you tried to cut down or stop and found that you could not?
  • Do you gamble to win back money you have lost?
  • Have you borrowed money, sold possessions or missed bill payments in order to gamble?
  • Do you hide your gambling, or lie about how much time or money it takes?
  • Do you feel restless, anxious or irritable when you are not gambling?
  • Has gambling affected your work, studies, sleep, health or your relationships?
  • Do you gamble to escape stress, loneliness or low mood?

If any of this sounds familiar, you can act immediately: set a deposit or loss limit, start a time-out, or self-exclude from your account settings. None of these steps costs anything, and none of them has to be permanent for a time-out.

Where to get free, confidential help

Independent support in the United Kingdom is free, confidential and available to anyone affected by gambling, including family members and friends. You do not need to be in crisis to contact them.

  • GambleAware - a charity that funds and signposts treatment, advice and education on gambling harm across Great Britain, with self-assessment tools and guidance for anyone worried about their own or someone else's gambling.
  • GamCare - provides free counselling, group support and practical guidance for people experiencing gambling harm, and for those around them.
  • GamStop - a free national self-exclusion scheme that, once you register, blocks you from gambling with operators licensed in Great Britain for a period you choose.
  • The National Gambling Helpline - a confidential helpline and live chat service staffed by trained advisers, open to callers across the UK at any hour.

Speaking to your GP is also a sensible step, as is contacting a free debt advice service if money has become a pressure. If you would like us to apply a control to your account while you arrange support, message our live chat or write to support@casinoblacklabel.co.uk and we will act on your request.

Protecting children and young people

It is an offence for anyone under 18 to gamble, and we take that seriously. We verify the age and identity of every customer, and we may ask for documents at registration, before a withdrawal, or at any later point. Where an account is found to belong to someone under 18, we close it, void any winnings and return deposits.

If you share a device or a household with children, a few precautions reduce the risk of underage access:

  • Keep your username, password and payment details private, and never let anyone else use your account.
  • Do not allow browsers or apps to save your sign-in details on a shared device, and sign out fully when you finish.
  • Lock devices with a PIN, password or biometric check.
  • Consider parental control or content-filtering software, which can block gambling sites on a household's computers, tablets and phones. Several such products are widely available, and some are free.
  • Talk to older children about gambling advertising and about simulated gambling in games and apps.

If you suspect underage use

Tell us as soon as possible through live chat or at support@casinoblacklabel.co.uk so that we can look into the account and act.
